George Stamos

George Dennis Stamos, 78, passed away on October 3, 2018 in Fort Pierce, Florida. George was born February 12, 1940 and raised in Coral Gables,Florida to parents George Dinos Stamos and Evelyn Jacobus Stamos, and siblings Roger and Marilyn. He attended Coral Gables High School where he graduated in 1958 and then attended the University of Florida. After that he moved to Tallahassee, FL where he worked as a sales representative for the National Cash Register Company. During his time in Tallahassee, George met the love of his life, Judy Jackson, in Perry, FL. George moved to Miami from Tallahassee where he worked as a sales representative for Sterling Pharmaceuticals for a number of years before founding and operating George Stamos Construction Company, a building contractor of custom built homes. He then moved to Ocean Ridge, FL where he worked for Westinghouse Communities and also served 6 terms as town commissioner and mayor. He finished his working years as a resident of Keaton Beach, FL while working as a building inspector. George was a man of faith, having served as a deacon and elder for Old Cutler Presbyterian Church in Miami and then as an elder for Blue Creek Baptist Church in Keaton Beach. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. George was preceded in death by his parents George and Evelyn, his brother Roger, and his sister, Marilyn, and a nephew Stephen Close.

He is survived by: his wife of 56 years, Mrs. Judy (Jackson) Stamos; 2 sons, George A. Stamos, of Buena Vista, GA, and Jason M. Stamos, and wife Susan, of Jupiter, FL; 4 grandchildren Fabian, Sarah, Hannah, Rebekah; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
